RRB Group D Exam Dates Changed: Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have revised the exam schedule for the Level 1 posts under CEN 08/2024, impacting candidates who were earlier set to appear in January 2026. The fresh dates, along with details on exam city, admit cards, and official warnings, have been formally announced by the Ministry of Railways.
What has changed in the exam dates?
The Computer Based Test (CBT) for various Level 1 posts under CEN-08/2024 will no longer be held between 1 to 16 January 2026 as announced earlier. Instead, the exams will now take place on 08, 09 January 2026 and 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 09 and 10 February 2026.
This revised schedule covers all notified Level 1 posts under the 7th CPC pay matrix, and candidates are advised to carefully note their new exam date. The notice has been issued by the Chairpersons of Railway Recruitment Boards on 23 December 2025.
Exam city, date link and SC/ST travel authority
The link to check exam city and date, as well as download the travel authority for SC/ST candidates, will be activated around 10 days before the exam. This link will be available on the official websites of all RRBs, and candidates should regularly check these portals for updates.
Once the city intimation link is live, SMS and emails will be sent to candidates on their registered mobile numbers and email IDs. This intimation will be sent only to those candidates whose City Intimation Slip has been activated.
When will e-call letters be available?
Downloading of e-call letters (admit cards) will begin four days prior to the respective exam date mentioned in the Exam City and Date Intimation Slip. Candidates must ensure they download and print their e-call letters in time to avoid last-minute issues.
All details related to exam timing, shift, and reporting time will be clearly mentioned on the e-call letter. [1] Carrying the e-call letter along with valid ID proof to the exam centre will be mandatory.
How to retrieve registration number or password?
If a candidate has forgotten their application registration number, they can visit www.rrbapply.gov.in and recover it using their login credentials. For those who do not remember their password, a “forget password” link is available on the login page to reset it.
A dedicated helpdesk has also been made available for queries or clarifications related to the exam. [1] Candidates can contact the helpdesk at +91 9513631887 from Monday to Saturday between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm.
Official websites only, beware of touts
RRBs have clearly advised candidates to rely only on the official websites of the Railway Recruitment Boards for all recruitment-related updates. Candidates have been warned not to fall for unauthenticated sources spreading fake information.
The notice also cautions aspirants to stay away from touts who promise jobs in exchange for money or favours. RRBs have stressed that selections are done purely through Computer Based Tests and recruitment is strictly based on the merit of candidates.
